Hoy nos centraremos en una de las ayudas que forma parte del amplio abanico de prestaciones y recursos de la Ley de dependencia. Se trata de la prestación económica de Asistencia Personal, una cuantía económica mensual que se asigna al beneficiario para contribuir a la contratación de un asistente personal profesional.
Centrándonos en la ley, el artículo 19 de Ley 39/2006, de 14 de diciembre, de Promoción de la Autonomía Personal y Atención a las Personas en situación de dependencia, sólo se contemplaba la asignación de esta prestación a los beneficiarios que tuvieran reconocido el Grado III de Dependencia, el mayor Grado de dependencia.
Desde la publicación del Real Decreto ley 20/2012 de 13 de julio, pueden acceder a esta prestación las personas reconocidas en situación de dependencia, independientemente del grado reconocido.
Cuantías máximas Año 2014:
Para los beneficiarios que, a la entrada en vigor del Real-Decreto ley 20/2012 de 13 de julio, tuvieran reconocido el grado de dependencia así como la prestación, la cuantía máxima queda fijada en:
Grado Nivel euros/mes:
- Grado III Nivel 2 833,96 euros/mes
- Grado III Nivel 1 625,47 euros/mes
Para aquellos solicitantes de reconocimiento de la situación de dependencia con anterioridad a la entrada en vigor del Real-Decreto ley 20/2012 de 13 de julio, respecto de los que no exista resolución administrativa de reconocimiento de grado y/o de reconocimiento de prestaciones, así como a los nuevos solicitantes les serán de aplicación las siguientes cuantías máximas, que se extienden a todos los grados de dependencia .

Compatibilidades
Esta prestación sólo es compatible con el servicio de Teleasistencia.
Las prestaciones pueden ser modificadas o extinguidas por:
- Variación de la situación personal del beneficiario.
- Variación de los requisitos establecidos para su reconocimiento.
- Incumplimiento de las obligaciones de la Ley.
